Beaulynn Place Addition

This former rancher was completely gutted and an attached  2 car garage and second floor were added to create additional space for a growing family. We reconfigured the main floor layout to utilize the existing space more efficiently, and then additional space was added to allow for family expansion. With nods to the Glasgow Style throughout, the fresh kitchen was the focal point.

Following the design phase, we managed the procurement of building permits, liaised with the General Contractor throughout construction, and managed the project through to completion. Start to finish! That’s what we do!

Location: North Vancouver. BC

Project Type: Residential Renovation

We met Pam Chilton of Zimba Design when she helped us renovate our small rancher into our dream home. Since buying our home we knew we wanted to renovate and expand it, but we weren’t sure how to start. The idea of going through an extensive renovation was daunting and despite having talked and drawn out many of our own ideas we didn’t think we’d ever get up the courage to take the plunge. How do you find a good designer? Do you get a general contractor? How do you deal with permits? How do you know if the people you are dealing with are honest and do good work? Our neighbours had done some work and we’d seen the Zimba Design sign on their property. We went to visit them to see how their renovation worked out and it was stunning. They told us about Pam and encouraged us to meet with her. From the moment we met her we knew she was going to help us make our dream house come to life. She interviewed us to uncover our needs and the design she came up with was something we could never have imagined on our own. Almost doubling the size of our home by adding a second floor, efficiently using every space in the home, providing a beautiful exterior. All of this and Pam was able to act as our project manager as well. Pam effortlessly navigated the permit process and we moved out of our home in April and were back in by August. Pam ran a tight ship and ensured that everything stayed on track. She made great recommendations to us for each supplier decision (tile, fixtures, carpet, etc) and met with us regularly for site visits. Pam made the entire process seem easy and, as a result, it was stress free for us. Her design was beautiful, and her execution was flawless. She really did help us bring a dream into reality. Working with Pam was such a great experience due to her attention to detail and care for her customers. We are so grateful to have worked with her.
